If you sell women’s apparel and accessories – particularly targeting the Boomer generation – you’ve got to start selling on the Web! According to a new MediaPost survey of 600 women over age 50, two out of three respondents said they do at least some of their clothing shopping online. What’s more, thirteen percent told MediaPost that they buy their clothes exclusively on the Web!
The survey indicates that this demographic is displeased with the service they receive in brick-and-mortar locations. "Eighty-four percent of the respondents described retail salespeople as indifferent, inexperienced, invisible or outright rude," writes MediaPost’s Stephen Reily. "Why does this matter? Primarily because the Boomer Woman is such an important fashion consumer, and designers, retailers and marketers are failing badly to engage the fastest-growing, richest demographic among their customer base…In a recession, these shoppers offer a lifeline to department stores, boutiques, and websites."
Thanks to our web solution, small- and mid-sized clothing boutiques and designers have an opportunity to outshine the major department stores on the Web!

Despite a dismal global economy, the Web was a smashing success last year!
According to a new report by Internet World Stats, 2009 ended with a total Web population of 1,802 million! Editor Enrique De Argaez writes that "The numbers prove what we said one year ago. The economic crisis had no effect on Internet growth. On the contrary, we see growth in all parts of the world during year 2009."
In fact, North America experienced more than 14% growth online, validating what many researchers have asserted: the downturn has prompted consumers to turn to the Web in droves! Now, online shopping is a part of their everyday shopping habits, and businesses without a professional Web presence are lagging!
If your brick-and-mortar location is suffering, set an appointment and let a Product Specialist show you why a simple investment in our web solution could revive your business!
